With Nemanja Nedovic scoring 21 points and dishing out 4 assists, Unicaja Malaga beat Bayern Munich 74 – 69 in Germany, making the 2-1 in the series and advancing to the Eurocup semifinals.

Reggie Redding scored 15 points, Vladimir Lucic had 14 plus 6 rebounds and Bryce Taylor 11 for the German squad.

Unicaja Malaga will now face Lokomotiv Kuban that had swept Zenit St. Petersburg for a ticket to the finals. Apart from Nedovic, Dejan Musli finished with 16 points and Kyle Fogg added 12.

Coach Plaza’s players had an aggressive entrance in the match, particularly on defense, forcing their opponents at only 10 points in the first quarter while dropping 17. The Bavarians reacted to take a 25 – 24 lead in the second quarter but the guests closed halftime ahead 27 – 34.

Malaga continued preserving a lead while Bayern had to cope with many problems execution-wise. Still the difference was manageable until Jamar Smith scored 5 consecutive points for the 57 – 67 with less 4 minutes to go.

Despite struggling to make shot, Bayern closed in making it 66 – 69 with 1 minute left. But Unicaja Malaga remained one step ahead and en route to the next stage.
