The injury that Dejan Musli sustained in the beginning of the third quarter of last night’s (14/3) semifinal battle between Unicaja Malaga and Lokomotiv Kuban in Krasnodar, will not allow him to participate in the second match.
While his team won to make the 1-0 in the best-of-three series, the Serbian big guy suffered a grade 2 ankle sprain and he will definitely stay out not only for Friday’s game in Malaga, but also for the Spanish League match against Estudiantes, also in “Martin Carpena”.
His condition will be further evaluated in the following days to see the exact time-frame that will be needed for his full recovery.
This is a serious blow for the Spanish team that loses one of its key players ahead of perhaps its most important match of the season so far. Musli has been averaging 11.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists so far in Eurocup in 21 minutes per game.
