Unics Kazan announced the signing of a new 2+1 deal with Russian guard/forward Anton Ponkrashov.
Ponkrashov, 31, averaged 6.4 points, 3.8 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game in ten EuroLeague games this year after recovering from an injury that kept him out for most part of season. He has been a member of Unics since 2015.
Unics will play in next season’s EuroCup with ambitions of winning the trophy, thus returning to EuroLeague in 2017/2018. They are already in talks with Giorgos Bartzokas to fill their vacant head coach position.
