28-year-old Qvale arrives from German EWE Baskets Oldenburg, where he was among the most productive centers in the 7DAYS EuroCup last season with 14.3 points on 67.2% shooting, 5.6 rebounds and 0.7 blocks over 18 games. He also recorded 14.7 points, 6.4 boards and 0.9 blocks in the German League.
Qvale has also suited up for Medi Bayreuth in Germany, Tofas and Aliaga Petkim in Turkey, and Belfius Mons-Hainaut in Belgium during his career.
“Brian Qvale is a high-quality player who should help Loko under the rim,” Lokomotiv general manager Alexey Savrasenko said. “He played well for Oldenburg. We are sure he is ready for the next step in his career. We expect aggressive play and progress from Brian.”
