38-year-old Mumbru is set to start his ninth season with Bilbao.
He averaged 10.3 points on 65.4% two-point shooting and 2.3 assists in eight 7DAYS EuroCup games last season. Mumbru started his career with Joventud Badalona, playing for its junior and vinculated teams before joining its first roster in 1999. He also played for Real Madrid before joining Bilbao in 2009.
He helped Madrid win the then-called ULEB Cup and the Spanish League titles in 2007. Mumbru also took Bilbao to the Spanish League finals in 2011, the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague playoffs in 2012 and the EuroCup title game in 2013, as well as lifting the FIBA Eurocup trophy with Joventut in 2006.
Mumbru has also been very successful with the Spanish national team, helping it get gold medals at the 2006 FIBA World Cup and EuroBasket 2009. Mumbru won three other medals with Spain – two silvers at the 2008 Olympic Games and EuroBasket 2007, as well as a bronze medal at EuroBasket 2013.
He is the ninth top scorer in EuroCup history with 1,071 points – barely 140 behind overall leader Bojan Dubljevic. Mumbru also ranks 13th in rebounds (368), seventh in fouls drawn (320), 12th in three-point shots made (134) and third in games played (112).
