Boris Diaw is reportedly signing with French Eurocup club Levallois Metropolitan, according to David Cozette of SFR Sport. The agreement includes an NBA opt-out clause that allows Diaw to return to the league at any time plus out option for European clubs (as Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported).
The only thing that remains for the deal to be finalized is the approval of the French DNCG (National Directorate of Management Control).
If DNCG validates the contract, then the 35-year-old captain of the French national team will return to Europe after 14 seasons in the NBA during which he won the title in 2014 with the San Antonio Spurs. Throughout 1.064 games in the league, he averaged 8.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.
Levallois Metropolitan competes in both the French League and EuroCup, the second-tier continental championship. The EuroCup winner is promoted to next season’s EuroLeague.
