Israeli League champions Hapoel Jerusalem officially announced the transfer of Greek forward Stratos Perperoglou. He’ll join head coach Fotis Katsikaris with whom they’ve worked in the Greek national team.
Perperoglou, 33, last played for Barcelona, with which he spent the two previous seasons. He averaged 6.1 points plus 3.5 rebounds in the 2016-2017 EuroLeague.
He has won the EuroLeague title twice with Panathinaikos in 2009 and 2011 and once with Olympiacos in 2013. This is the first season after 10 years that he won’t play in the top-tier continental competition, since Hapoel competes in EuroCup, being among the title contenders.
