2017 is a year that Klemen Prepelic will remember fondly as one of the best and most successful of his career since he won Eurobasket with his national team. That was the first gold medal for Slovenia’s basketball team as an independent country.
“We are the first team that will be European champions for four years. So we will just enjoy it. Right now, we don’t even know what we did probably. The time went so fast. It’s different if you won the Euroleague and the season is so close to being done and then you have two months to think about it and enjoy it. But it’s different when you win the EuroBasket and in one day, three days or whatever you have to go back to your club and start a new story with the team,” Prepelic said in an interview for EuroCup Basketball.
Prepelic, who turned 25 yesterday (20/10) s a contract with Levallois Metropolitans, as he lives in “The City of Light” now.
“There are many things to do in Paris, and you will not be able to see everything in one year. So we are trying to do the biggest things,” Prepelic explained.
Living a life away from the home is never easy, but the young Slovenian has people he loves around him. Also a special dog with an, even more, special name.
“I have a girlfriend for the last three years. I am really happy with her. And for the last year, we have a dog, a Chihuahua. We gave him the name Llull, after Sergio Llull from Real Madrid. He has so much energy like Sergio does.”
Prepelic has had a strong start to the season, averaging 20.5 points in a two 7DAYS EuroCup games.
