Bosnian forward Dzanan Musa scored a new 20 points (a new personal career-best in European club competitions) in just 18 minutes as Cedevita overpowered title contender Unics Kazan 94 – 74 to improve its Group A record to 2-2.
Musa shot 2/2 2-pointers, 4/7 3s and 2/2 from the line while also winning four fouls.
Veteran Roko Leni Ukic added 18 points, four rebounds, three assists for the winning squad. Stephan Lasme had 24 points plus seven rebounds and Quino Colom 18 and five assists for Unics that is now 2-2.
In Italy, Darussafaka Dogus forced Turin to its first defeat of the EuroCup season by crushing them 89 – 60 behind a dominant JaJuan Johnson (23 points, six rebounds, 28 PIR) and a top-notch Will Cummings (21 points).
Diante Garrett finished with 14 points while former NBA-er Sasha Vujacic had 11 for Turin.
Coach David Blatt’s team is now the only undefeated squad in Group A and just third in the competition overall after four weeks of games. As we’ve already mentioned… he’s on a mission.
Yesterday, Andorra won its first game after downing a Klemen Prepelic-less Levallois Metropolitans 79 – 61 at home. Boris Diaw’s team remains winless in EuroCup.
