Partizan Belgrade president Ostoja Mijailovic admitted that the club is in talks with Serbian forward Rade Zagorac, currently a free agent.
“We have not signed a contract with [Rade] Zagorac. Negotiations are on ongoing. We haven’t finished this. The contract that we offered isn’t harmful (financially) to Partizan. But I think we can do better,” Mijailovic said during a press conference held today in Belgrade, as reported by Mozzart Sport.
“Zagorac really wants to come to Partizan and Partizan wants Zagorac. I can’t say what are the issues that prevent the signing of the contract. If I say anything it might damage Partizan, the player and his agency with which we have an excellent cooperation,” Mihailovic added.
Mihailovic’s press conference was held less than 24 hours after Partizan’s defeat to Alba Berlin at home for EuroCup. It’s a result that may seriously cripple the Serbian team’s future in the competition since Partizan currently stands at a 1-5 record with four games remaining for the completion of the regular season.
Zagorac,22, has been a free agent after the Memphis Grizzlies waived him on October 16, just one day prior to new season’s launch.
