Cedevita came back 17-point deficit (27 – 44) early in the second half to force an overtime and ultimately beat Darussafaka 89 – 83 behind the EuroCup career-night of Roko Leni Ukic.
The Croatian veteran scored 8 out of his 27 points game-high in the last six minutes of the fourth period including a huge 3 that made it 74 – 74 in the final minute. Will Cherry (15 points) then scored to send the match to an extra period where Cedevita prevailed.
JaJuan Johnson (13 points, 10 rebounds) had previously given a 74 – 76 lead for Dacka. He and Howard Sant-Roos (6 points, 8 assists, 7 steals) were the top players from David Blatt’s squad.
In France, Boris Diaw’s all-around output (13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists) wasn’t enough to prevent Levallois’ 67 – 77 loss to Unics Kazan.
Stephane Lasme flirted with the double-double (14 points, 9 assists) while Quino Colom was everywhere with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Jamar Smith scored 14.
In the game that concluded Day 7 for Group A, Jaime Fernandez (18 points) and Oliver Stevic (16 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals) helped Andorra stay safe and sound with an 83 – 77 victory over Turin.
The efforts of former NBAers Diante Garrett (17 points, 5 assists), Sasha Vujacic (16 points, 5 steals) and Lamar Patterson (16 points) weren’t enough for the Italian team.
