Partizan fired its coach, Miroslav Nikolic, as the club officially announced. According to club president Ostoja Mijailovic, the board is scheduled to meet on Thursday to “name a new head coach and coaching staff.”
“I can confirm that Miroslav Nikolić is no longer head coach of Partizan NIS and that Aleksandar Matović will lead the team in our next EuroCup game against Bilbao on Wednesday. Also, the club’s Board will have a meeting on Thursday at which we will make the final decision about who will be the new head coach of Partizan NIS,” stated Partizan NIS president Ostoja Mijailović.
Nikolic signed a three-and-half-year contract this summer, however because of the club’s bad performance he was sacked. The Serbian team was underperforming, especially in the EuroCup where they stand on a 1-7 record.
