He has done it again against Ratiopharm Ulm this season but this time, his performance came with a win.
Marcus Eriksson posted a career-high 26 points, shooting 6/7 from beyond the arc as Gran Canaria beat the German team 97 – 84 at home.
The Swedish gunner scored half of his points in the last five minutes of the game. He came off the bench and began firing with his team down 75 – 79 to ultimately lead them to victory.
DJ Seeley helped him with 17 points while Ondrej Balvin scored 14 and grabbed 7 rebounds. Trey Lews had a game-high 28 points but it didn’t suffice for Ratiopharm Ulm.
On the other side of Europe, Trento took perhaps a sensational victory of the week, by defeating Tofas Bursa 91 – 79 on the road, behind Dominique Sutton’s season-high 24 points and 12 rebounds.
“We never played like that this year,” said Tofas coach Orhun Ene who saw Kenny Kadji scoring 18 points, Pierria Henry adding 15 but all his players being sloppy on defense.
A surprise was in order in St. Petersburg as well, where ASVEL downed Zenit.
