After losing its first game against Reggiana, Limoges CSP could not bounce back as it lost its second consecutive against Unics Kazan at home 66-69. The home side slipped to 0-2, while the visitors improved to 2-0.
It all came down to the final three minutes. With the game at 57-55 (37:00), Unics Kazan went on a 0-6 run to gain a four-point advantage (57-61). Lasme’s shots and Smith’s defense played a huge role down the stretch. Carter was trying to put his team on the back, with his free-throws and three-point shots, but Ponkrashov’s two-pointer, and Lasme’s offensive rebound and putback were huge with just nine seconds on the clock.
In the first quarter, Milling’s side started the game off on the right foot as after ten minutes the team went up ahead by seven points (17-10). In the second and third period, however, Kazan’s team bounced back and tied the game at 49 in late third quarter. Andusic and Smith led the way for coach Priftis in that spam.
The game remained competitive in the fourth quarter but in the end, Unics got the last laugh. Jamar Smith finished with 11 points, seven assists, and five rebounds, while Stephan Lasme added 13 points and five rebounds.
