Collins leads Lokomotiv past Gran Canaria in late-game thriller

Lokomotiv Kuban came back and defeated Gran Canaria 79-74 in a late-game thriller.

The game was decided in the final minutes. With two minutes left on the clock, the score was tied (70-70). With 42 seconds Kulagin dunked the ball and put Lokomotiv up by two points (75-73). On the free-throw line, Oliver for Gran Canaria missed the first free-throw and made the second one (75-74). Finally, on the other side of the court, Collins scored the shot of the night (77-74) which decided the game.

Dimitri Kulagin finished with 18 points for the winners, while Mardy Collins added 17 and the most crucial shot of the game.

Gran Canaria started the game off perfectly, building a double-digit lead (5-17) but the home side came back in the second half. With Brian Qvale leading the way, ‘Loko’ cut the deficit to three points (51-54) in the third period.

Lokomotiv Kuban earlier today also signed Jonas Maciulis until the end of the season, but he is not eligible to compete in the EuroCup.
