Eurohoops caught up with EuroCup champion David Blatt to discuss plenty of hot topics around the sport.

The experienced coach describes the feeling of making history for Turkish basketball, as well as earning a spot back in the EuroLeague.

“Sometimes it’s not about what you say, but what you do. So, I said it [that Darussafaka has to play in EuroLeague], but eventually, we had to do it in order to make it happen. And we did!”

He also commented about Panathinaikos leaving the EuroLeague, using Darussafaka’s success as an example: “I think the important thing while going forward is what the team will do and what EuroLeague will do, recognizing the need for commitment and a sustainable program for today and for the future. Like you, I’m also very anxious to see what will happen.”

As for his EuroLeague favorite, Blatt mentioned: “I want Fenerbahce to win the championship, with no hesitation, I wish them best of luck.”

He also denied the rumors that wanted him to have meetings with NBA teams next week: “I don’t know where that rumor started. I won’t be in the States next week, no.”
