Olympiacos Piraeus assistant Milan Tomic is considered the first option by Crvena Zvezda to fill the team’s vacant head coach post, according to Mozzart Sport.
Crvena Zvezda is expected to extend an official offer to Tomic in the following days. Milenko Topic, who served as head coach following the firing of Dusan Alimpijeivic, is planned to once again return to the position of an assistant.
Tomic has been an assistant with Olympiacos since 2008 and won two EuroLeague titles (2012, 2013), three Greek League and two Cup titles at the bench of the Reds. The Serbian coach also spent 13 years of his professional career as a player of Olympiacos winning the 1997 EuroLeague title, five Greek League titles, and three Cup trophies.
After four seasons in EuroLeague, Crvena Zvezda will compete in EuroCup during 2018-2019.
