Zenit looks to turn to a familiar face ahead of the new season. That is Khimki’s Stefan Markovic, who played for the first during the 2016-17 season.
Markovic joined Khimki last summer and still has an active contract for next season, though Zenit’s desire to acquire him anew is strong, per Eurohoops sources.
The 30-year-old Serbian guard left a great impression during his tenure at the St. Peterburg side, averaging 11.9 points, 9.1 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 14 EuroCup games, in a career-best season.
It is to be noted that Markovic is EuroCup’s all-time leader with 491 assists and second all-time in that competition in career steals (155).
