Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade added another big man in order to strengthen their frontcourt as they agreed to a deal with Mouhammad Faye, according to Eurohoops sources.
The negotiations between the two sides have been uncertain, especially after the signing of Stratos Perperoglou but it seems as though the Serbian club’s budget can also afford the 32-year-old’s contract.
Zvezda head coach Milan Tomic believes that the Senegalese international fits the profile and is capable of helping the team, so the offer to the player was raised from the initial $110,000 to $150,000. Faye will compete in a European competition for the first time since 2015-16 when he played at the FIBA Europe Cup with Varese.
With the exception of the one-year stint in Italy, the athletic forward/center played in Greece as of 2013-14 season. He wore the jerseys of Ikaros Kallitheas, Panelefsinakos, Rethymno, and spent last two seasons with Prometheus.
