In his first interview as a member of Lokomotiv Kuban for the team’s website, Isaiah Whitehead discussed this upcoming year, his goals, but also why he chose to sign with the Russian team.
Firstly, he explained his decision to join Lokomotiv Kuban and participate in the 7DAYS EuroCup competition: “I wanted to play for a great coach. Sasa [Obradovic] is the perfect example. I also know Dorell Wright and his choice to sign with ‘Loko’ for the upcoming season says a lot. I believe in this team, and I think that we will succeed. It will be great to live in a new and different country, learn to speak Russian but also get to know the local fans and Russian people. Everything that happens is very exciting. Moving to a different country is a big change, but I’m ready for it.”
As for the different style of play, Whitehead says he has nothing to worry about: “I have nothing to worry about. We discussed everything with the coach. I believe everything will be fine.”
