Rytas Vilnius added young center Norbertas Giga to their roster with a long-term contract. The 23-year-old has been recovering from an ankle injury and will join the team as soon as possible.
Rytas Vilnius on Friday announced the signing of big man Norbertas Giga to a long-term contract that is pending a probationary period of one month to assess his physical status following an injury. Giga (2.08 meters, 23 years old) is from Vilnius and played on regional teams there before attending high school and university in the United States. He spent the last two seasons at Jacksonville University, averaging 8.6 points and 6.3 rebounds in the most recent one. Giga is currently rehabilitating an ankle injury, the announcement said, and will join the team once fully healed.
“We are happy to bring back a talent like Norbert to Vilnius,” Rytas sports director Linas Kleiza said, “and we expect him to be a serious threat under the basket in the future.”
