Two days after the news about his visit to Belgrade Andrea Trinchieri practically confirmed that he is the new head coach of Partizan Belgrade by changing his profile photo on Twitter and using the logo of the Serbian club.
“Sportski Zurnal” first reported that there’s may be a deal between the two sides, however with Trinchieri arriving at Belgrade it was obvious that the talks were more than advanced.
After leaving Brose Bamberg, it was reported that Trinchieri was in talks with the Toronto Raptors during the summer for an assistant position. The Italian coach who has also Croatian roots has coached in the past Unics Kazan, Cantu, Veroli and the Greek national team.
Born in 1968, he was the EuroCup coach of the year in 2014, he has won the Italian SuperCup in 2012, the Russian Cup in 2014, a German Cup in 2017 and three German league titles between 2015 and 2017.
