Errick McCollum scored 18 out of his season-high 26 points (9/13 f.g.) in the fourth quarter, leading Unics Kazan to an 87 – 81 road win over Rytas Vilnius for Round 7 of the EuroCup regular season.
The score was 62 – 62 when McCollum was unleashed, making buckets in any way imaginable. The 2016 EuroCup MVP held back Unics, until Pierria Henry and Trent Lockett scored for the 77 – 83 with 1:19 remaining. McCollum then made some free throws to seal the final outcome that lifted his team to a 6- 1 record in Group and the mathematical qualification to the next stage.
Henry added 18 points, five assists, five rebounds for Unics. DJ Seeley (19 points, six assists) and Martynas Echodas (14 points, four boards) were the top performers for Rytas that dropped to 3 – 4.
