After acquiring Alex Renfroe, Partizan NIS added another player to the roster as they signed the 24-year-old center Nikola Jankovic.
Partizan NIS Belgrade continued reinforcing its roster ahead of the start of the 7DAYS EuroCup Top 16 by adding center Nikola Jankovic on a deal for the remainder of this season. Jankovic (2.07 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Estudiantes Madrid, for which he averaged 8.5 points and 4.2 rebounds as a starter in the Spanish League. Jankovic returns to his native Serbia where he grew up with the FMP Zeleznik and Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade junior systems. He started his professional career with Charleroi in Belgium, where he made his EuroCup debut in 2012. Jankovic went on to play for Pepinster in Belgium and Mega Leks in Serbia before moving to Union Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenia, where he was the Adriatic League MVP for the 2016-17 season. Last season Jankovic played for Sakarya in Turkey.
He is a decorated player at the junior level for Serbia. Jankovic was selected to the All-Tournament Team at the 2014 U20 European Championship for Men after leading Serbia to a bronze medal with 15.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. That was the third of three silver or bronze medals at European junior championships as well as a silver from the 2013 FIBA U19 Championship for Men that Jankovic won with Serbia. He now returns to the EuroCup where he so far played 12 games and posted 9.3 points and 5.7 rebounds on average. Jankovic is the second reinforcement for Partizan in the last week after the club signed playmaker Alex Renfroe.
