ASVEL kept things in check for most of the game and despite ratiopharm Ulm’s effort which managed to get into striking distance, the French side got the 93-89 win and leads the standings in 7DAYS EuroCup Top 16 Group F with a 2-0 record.
DeMarcus Nelson with two free throws sealed the win and Amine Noua (photo) with 16 was the top scorer of the home side. Patrick Miller with 20 points and the duo of Javonte Green and Ryan Thompson with 15 points each tried to pull up an upset for Ulm. They were close, but not quite there as the hosts led from wire to wire.
Earlier, Lokomotiv Kuban destroyed Fraport Skyliners on the road, getting the big 92-69 win. Jamel McLean with 19 points was the first among equals for the winners who had in total six players scoring in double digits. The hosts simply couldn’t keep up.
