Alba Berlin defeated AS Monaco 75 – 61 on the road and qualified to the EuroCup quarterfinals stage.
Rokas Giedraitis scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Alba while Nnoko Landry posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Joshiko Saibu added 10 points as well.
Lazeric Jones scored 12 points and Derek Needham 10 for Monaco that didn’t manage to fully recover following Alba’s electric 16 – 26 entrance in the first quarter.
The hosts closed that gap to two points, 24 – 26, but the German side pulled away for a 36 – 27 halftime score. Alba retained a lead and, three minutes into the final period made it 46 – 61.
Alba improved to 4 – 1 with this win while Monaco dropped to 2-3.
