Unicaja Malaga announced that guard Jaime Fernandez will be out for at last eight weeks.
Fernandez suffered a femoral biceps rupture near the end of the Copa Del Rey quarterfinal loss to Iberostar Tenerife Thursday (14/2). The examinations the Spanish player underwent today revealed the precise extent of his injury.
This is a major blow for Malaga that will miss its starting playmaker for the rest of the EuroCup season that is concluded on April 15. Guard Alberto Diaz is also out for the Andalusian side.
Fernandez had been averaging 12.0 points, 4.6 assists, and 2.6 rebounds in 15 EuroCup games.
