Alexis Ajinca’s return to Europe and the Jeep Elite LNB Pro A might be short-lived. Le Progres reported that the 30-year-old French center came face to face with his coach Zvezdan Mitrovic during Friday’s home game against Le Portel. The heated conversation might result to his exit from Tony Parker’s team.
The incident reportedly occurred during halftime of the Jeep Elite Regular Season Round 21 match. Ajinca was struggling on the floor and had just received a technical foul. On his way to the locker room he verbally attacked Mitrovic.
The former New Orleans Pelicans, Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Hornets player never got back on the court and according to Le Progres won’t be at practice today. The next step might be Villeurbanne announcing his departure.
He got to play a pair of 7DAYS EuroCup Top 16 games helping the French team to qualify with 10 points and 3.5 boards per contest. He also averaged 6 points and 3.2 rebounds in the French League.
