Unicaja Malaga has reached an agreement with American forward/center Deon Thompson according to Diario Sur. Thompson will replace French center Mathias Lessort on the roster of the Spanish side.
Thompson, 31, is an owner of a Cotonou passport and won’t occupy a foreign player’s spot. The player will return to the Spanish ACB League where he previously competed with San Pablo Burgos from 2017 to January 2019, when he left for Lithuanian EuroLeague club Zalgiris Kaunas.
With Zalgiris, Thompson averaged 4.7 points and 3.1 rebounds in over 13:43 minutes in 17 EuroLeague matches.
