Joventut Badalona is signing former EuroLeague champion Nikos Zisis to a two-year deal, according to Eurohoops’ sources.
Panathinaikos Athens had extended an offer to Zisis while AEK Athens and Gran Canaria expressed a serious interest for the player. Ultimately, the veteran Greek combo guard reached an agreement with Badalona to return to the Spanish ACB League for the first time since his 2012-2013 stint with Bilbao
Zisis, 35, spent the previous four seasons playing in Germany with Brose Bamberg. He helped the Bavarian squad win the German League in 2016 and 2017, plus the 2015 Supercup and 2017 Cup titles and parted ways with the club as team captain.
Throughout his career, Zisis has played for such teams as CSKA Moscow (with which he won the 2008 EuroLeague), Fenerbahce Beko, Benetton Treviso, AEK Athens, Montepaschi Siena and Unics Kazan. He’s a veteran of 17 EuroLeague seasons.
