Virtus Bologna announced the addition of former EuroLeague MVP Milos Teodosic. The Serbian guard signed a three-year contract with the reigning Basketball Champions League champions.
The contract between Teodosic and the Italian club doesn’t include any opt-out clauses and thus binds the two sides together until 2023. It’s a deal that will make the Serbian star one of the highest-paid players in Europe.
Bologna and Teodosic will compete in the 2019-2020 EuroCup, apart from the Italian League. The EuroCup winner and finalist will receive spots in the 2020-2021 EuroLeague.
Teodosic, 31, is returning to Europe following a two-year stint in the NBA with the L.A. Clippers. He had been a free agent since he parted ways with the team last February.
Before the Clippers, Teodosic had a decorated run in Europe with such teams as Olympiacos and CSKA Moscow. He was named EuroLeague MVP at 23 years of age in 2010 and was a member of the All-EuroLeague First Team in 2010, 2015 and 2016, plus a member of the All-EuroLeague Second Team in 2012, 2013 and 2017.
Teodosic won the EuroLeague title with CSKA in 2016.
