Tarik Phillip will further his career with Tofas Bursa, the 7DAYS EuroCup participant announced on Thursday. The 26-year-old British-American guard inked a contract for the 2019-20 season with an option for the 2020-21 season.
The West Virginia alum went undrafted in 2017 and launched his professional career in Hungary with Szolnoki Olaj, but finished his 2017-18 campaign in Spain with Clavijo. He spent last season in the G League with the Memphis Hustle up to the last day of the NBA regular season when he joined the Washington Wizards.
Phillip averaged 13.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 steals over 48 G League matches. As for his stint with the Wizards, it came in the form of 4 Summer League contests, in which he notched 5.8 points, 1.3 assists, 1 rebound and 1 steal per appearance.
The upcoming season will land him in the Turkish Super Ligi. The 26-year-old guard will also make his EuroCup debut adding on his European club competitions experience he initiliazed via the FIBA Europe Cup with Szolnoki Olaj a couple of years ago.
