Galatasaray beat on the road Asseco Arka Gdynia (83-78), and Unicaja Malaga prevailed with ease over Dolomiti Energia Trento (93-74) as the two winners share the top spot of the Group D standings with a 4-1 record.
Galatasaray had a 41-28 halftime lead, but Arka (3-2) turned things around in the third period, which had a partial score of 31-11 in their favor. The hosts entered the last quarter with a 59-52 lead. Still, Galatasaray made a comeback with Greg Whittington making big plays down the stretch on the way to the final 83-78. He finished the game with 13 points and eight rebounds, Zach Auguste scored 16 points, and Tai Webster added 14. Josh Bosh scored 33 for Arka, making 10/15 field goals.
In Spain, Unicaja cruised on the way to a 93-74 win after opening the game by leading 28-10 in the first quarter over Trento (2-3). Josh Adams, with 21 points, was the first among equals on a peaceful night. Alessandro Gentile scored 18 points for the losing side.
In the third game of the group, EWE Baskets Oldenburg (2-3) prevailed over Buducnost Voli Podgorica (0-5) on the road by two points (85-83). Oldenburg icon Rickey Paulding scored 21 points for the winners, while Justin Cobbs had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Montenegrin team, which still doesn’t have a win. It was a close game, which was decided on the free-throw line with Karsten Tadda making the last two of the night for the eventual winners.
