Unicaja Malaga is acquiring Spanish guard Dario Brizuela, as Estudiantes confirmed and Diario Sur reported first. The 25-year-old player will make his EuroCup debut with the Andalusian side.

Malaga will pay a sum of around 250,000 euros to Estudiantes in order to make the transfer and sign Brizuela. Estudiantes was planning to shop the player for a higher figure next summer, but their economical struggles forced them to sell him earlier, according to Diario Sur.

Valencia was a club that came close to sign Brizuela in the 2019 offseason but Estudiantes matched the offer and kept the player.

Brizuela has been one of the top Spanish players this season in ACB Liga Endesa. He has been averaging 14,1 points, 2, 6 assists and 2,5 rebounds in 29:02 minutes over 10 Spanish League games.
