Thanks to a total team effort and with Evgeny Kolesnikov being the top scorer with 14 points, UNICS Kazan got the 71-68 win over Darussafaka Tekfen Istanbul.
Both teams had already qualified for the Top16, however, thanks to this result UNICS secured the top of the standings with a 6-4 record.
Darussafaka (5-5) had the chance to get a crucial lead while trailing by two (68-66) with nine seconds left for the final buzzer. Jarrod Jones attempted a three, he missed and the outcome was practically decided.
Joventut Badalona also finished with a 5-5 record and qualified, despite losing badly (103-81) in the last game of the regular season to Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana which was already out of the race for Top16.
Jaka Blazic with 18 points led his team to an honorary victory.
The last open spot for the Top16 was decided on Tuesday by Brescia’s win.
