Eurohoops Academy bids farewell with emotion and great joy to an integral member of its family, Dimitris Diamantidis. Dimitris Diamantidis, from the position of Director, together with Theodoros Papaloukas laid the foundations for a special basketball academy, with the aim of transmitting to young children their love and dedication to sports, thus contributing to its creation and forging a new generation of Greek basketball.
After three years of impeccable cooperation, development and progress, the initial vision slowly began to become a reality. With both the Eurohoops Academy and the Eurohoops Academy Leontiou, Dimitris Diamantidis has been a source of inspiration and motivation for hundreds of children who started their first basketball steps or continued at the Eurohoops Dome and Leontiou facilities.
A thank you is very little to be able to condense the whole offer of Dimitris Diamantidis to the family of Eurohoops Academy. A thank you is too little to fit the devotion, passion, love and countless moments he shared with the new kids. The legacy he leaves is huge.
We are sure that Dimitris Diamantidis will continue to offer his best in the sport that he has already determined with his career both as an athlete and as the director of the Eurohoops Academy. We wholeheartedly hope that everything that is envisioned will come true.
Dimitris Diamantidis wanted to send his own special farewell message to the Eurohoops Academy: “After three years, it’s time to step down as Director of Academies at the Eurohoops Academy and the Eurohoops Academy Leontiou. I thank Theodoros Papaloukas and all our collaborators for the moments we have lived through all this time. I have them in my heart. The proposal of Panathinaikos in view of the new era was very honorable and I could not do otherwise. The challenge is great.”
