Panathinaikos prepares for the Greek finals, but also thinks about next season. The Greens are in advanced talks with Jure Zdovc in order to hire him as the next head coach of the team.
The Greek champs are very satisfied with former assistant Sotiris Manolopoulos, who got the promotion after Dusko Ivanovic’ departure one month ago. The Greek coach improved the team and taking into consideration that he’s in Panathinaikos since 2012, he’s expected to stay in the coaching stuff also in the next season.
However, the Greens are looking for a more experienced head coach and the strongest candidate to take the job is Jure Zdovc with whom there are talks and there is mutual desire for cooperation. The only problem for now is Zdovc’ contract, which is valid also for the next season with Gaziantepspor.
The 48 year-old coach wants to return to the Euroleague and Panathinaikos’ challenge is more than welcomed. That’s why a possible settlement with the Turkish club is probable.
