Olympiacos is near the acquisition of American center Octavius Ellis from Promitheas Patras. As Eurohoops confirms, the two clubs will be reaching a buyout deal soon and the player will sign a contract for until the end of the 2020-2021 season. Olympiacos will have an opt-out option for summer 2020.
Ellis has been averaging 10.8 points and 6.3 rebounds in 20:37 minutes over 12 games of the EuroCup season so far. If he signs with Olympiacos, then he will play in EuroLeague for the first time in his career.
Olympiacos coach Giorgos Bartzokas hinted on a potential signing before the team’s EuroLeague game vs. Zenit St. Petersburg. The Greek club had parted ways with center Willie Reed and guard Will Cherry earlier in January.
Gazzetta.gr first reported about the imminent deal between Olympiacos and Ellis.
