According to Eurohoops sources, the Euroleague judge has once again dismissed the case of the alleged bribery in the 2018 Panathinaikos vs. Olympiacos game due to lack of evidence.
Olympiacos is expected to appeal the decision, and their deadline to do so is ten days.
The case in question is regarding the accusations of Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos that Olympiacos “promised each of the referees 20.000.”
In December 2019, CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) ruled that the case be returned to the Sports Judge of EuroLeague, who initially made the same decision as this time, to dismiss the case due to the “absence of concrete evidence.”
It’s the second time that the EuroLeague judge has dismissed the case, but Olympiacos is expected to continue pursuing it legally.
Meanwhile, Jordi Bertomeu is expected in Athens this week and a meeting with Olympiacos owners seem possible.
