Maccabi Tel Aviv is targeting Indiana Pacers forward T.J. Leaf and Olympiacos Piraeus forward Kostas Papanikolaou as potential summer signings according to Moshe Barda of Israeli website One.

Leaf, 22 and son of former Maccabi player Brad Leaf, is currently in his third season with the Indiana Pacers. Indiana picked up the 2020-2021 season of Leaf’s contract in October yet the player has found little playing time this season, averaging 8.2 minutes over 22 games.

He was a part of the Israeli national team youth team that won the silver medal in the 2015 FIBA European Championship Division B.

Papanikolaou played under Maccabi coach Giannis Sfairopoulos from 2016 to 2018 on Olympiacos Piraeus. ONE reports that the 30-year-old former two-time EuroLeague champion should be also considered a main target. The Greek player signed a three-year extension with Olympiacos in 2018.

Maccabi has already extended the contracts of guard Scottie Wilbekin and center Othello Hunter this season.
