Olimpia Milano coach Ettore Messina talked about how he doesn’t focus on the standings, ahead of a very intense regular season-ending with multiple teams fighting for a spot in the playoffs.
When asked in the post-game press conference in Kaunas about how often does he check the standings, Messina was clear.
“Never. I didn’t do it even at the beginning of the year when we beat very good teams”, he mentions. “I just focus game by game. I don’t think anyone in EuroLeague can make plans, because, you know, surprise is always there. You don’t know what’s going to happen. Unfortunately, all of us that we are there between the 8 and 10 places, we all depend on other teams not only on ourselves. So we’ll see. We just have to keep playing”.
Olimpia Milano is currently at an 11-15 tie with Zalgiris after the latter prevailed in OT on Friday night, while both teams are going after Khimki that moved to the 8th spot after beating ASVEL in Round 26.
