After the Lithuanian League Board decided to end the season and crown Zalgiris champion for the 2019-20 season and EuroLeague’s update on closing the league until at least April 11, Zalgiris has freed its players and coaching staff of obligations.
As the team informed, players and coaches will be allowed to leave the team indefinitely, until further notice from the EuroLeague in case action resumes following April 11.
Earlier this week, Zalgiris GM Paulius Motiejunas expressed also the wish to suspend players’ salaries following the NBA format, if they won’t play games in the upcoming weeks, while a decision is still pending on that.
