Valencia will be signing star forward/center Bojan Dubljevic to a three-year contract extension according to Sport Klub. Dubljevic’s current deal with the team is expiring at the end of the current season./
Dubljevic, 28, was having the best season of his career in EuroLeague before the championship was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Montenegrin big man was averaging 14.2 points (on 59.8% 2-point shooting), 6.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists while Valencia was fighting for a playoff spot.
Valencia acquired Dubljevic in 2012. Over those eight years, Dubljevic helped Valencia win the 2014 and 2019 EuroCup titles plus the 2017 Spanish ACB league while being named Finals MVP.
In a 2018 interview with Eurohoops, Dubljevic said that he wants to stay with Valencia for “as long as possible” and that the Spanish team is his “dream” and not the NBA. The Portland Trail Blazers acquired the player’s NBA rights from the Minnesota Timberwolves in July 2019.
