One of ELPA’s goals is to assist its members in preparing the transition to life after their careers and is therefore proud to announce its first online seminar in collaboration with the consultation company Themoove.
Representing the NBPA, Jose Calderon (Special Assistant to Executive Director) will join the online seminar as a guest speaker in the professional future session.
The three-day online seminar will be conducted by a group of professionals from the consultation company Themoove, which is led by former successful basketball player and now a renown sports psychologist Mar Rovira. It will take place on 22, 23 and 24 April and is accessible to all ELPA members.
“We have been thinking about different types of activities for our members since ELPA’s foundation with an emphasis on extremely important field – education. We want to give players a chance to work on their positive mindset, learn how to deal with finances with caution and how to start preparing for their next step – life after basketball. I am happy players applied to the seminar which shows how important are these projects and I am sure we will organize many more in the future. I would also like to thank Mar Rovira and her team from Themoove for preparing quality topics and discussions.” – Anze Blazic, ELPA Secretary General.
Three topics that will be presented during the ELPA online seminar:
MIND SESSION – About difficulties of the current COVID-19 crisis and how players can better manage their time during the confinement: physical routines, become more productive, decrease the level of stress and anxiety, approach the future with the right mindset.
FINANCIAL COACHING SESSION – About separating good financial advice from a bad one, properly evaluating business advisors and learning to ask the right questions when making financial decisions.
PROFESSIONAL FUTURE SESSION – About possible benefits and downfalls of a second career, learning to analyse individual strengths and weaknesses and determining which things should be considered prior to retirement as a professional athlete.
