Tornike Shengelia, who actively participated in the negotiations between EuroLeague and the ELPA for the minimum obligations of the clubs towards their players as a member of the ELPA Board, mentioned that he was satisfied with the outcome of the agreement.
“I think it is something very important for everyone, for the players and for the clubs. In my case, I want to thank Baskonia because they have taken a step forward to reach this agreement. We are satisfied in this regard”, Shengelia told in a recent message to the fans.
Last week, it was decided that 85% of player base salaries for the 2019-20 season will be paid by clubs, no later than 15 August 2020 if the season is finally completed, or 80% of player base salaries for the 2019-20 season will be paid by clubs if the season is ultimately canceled.
