For the first time since the coronavirus pandemic halted basketball action all around the world, the FC Barcelona players got back to work on Wednesday morning. As noted by the Spanish powerhouse, the players trained individually following implemented guidelines minimizing the health risks for themselves and coaches.

Per FC Barcelona: “With medical testing completed on Monday, the basketball first team have begun their individual training sessions at the courts at the Ciutat Esportiva as stipulated in the protocols.
On Wednesday morning at 9.30am CEST, the players and members of the coaching staff divided themselves up at the Ciutat Esportiva amongst the three basketball courts to maintain the safe distance required by the health authorities.
The session saw different exercises carried out with and without the as players looked to get used to the movements required on the court once again. Barça B players Leandro Bolmaro, Sergi Martínez and Ibou Badji also took part.”
Barcelona was tied with Real Madrid in second place of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings before the suspension of the 2019-20 season. The Spanish clubs stood at 22-6 behind leader Anadolu Efes sitting at 24-4. A 19-4 ACB run was good enough for first place in its domestic league.
Both EuroLeague and ACB are considering resuming their 2019-20 campaigns. Participating teams including Barca are steadily attempting to prepare for basketball action potentially resuming.
