Panathinaikos Athens is interested in Alba Berlin guard Martin Hermannsson according to Eurohoops sources. The “Greens” will be looking to particularly bolster their backcourt in offseason, especially considering the expected departure of star guard and team captain Nick Calathes.
So far, Panathinaikos hasn’t extended an offer to Hermannsson but contact has been made with the player’s side. The Greek club will be looking to solve other matters first, like the one regarding who will be the team’s next head coach. So far, current assistant George Vovoras is considered the favorite to be promoted to head coach permanently.
Hermannsson, 25, averaged 10.9 points, 4.8 assists and 1.6 rebounds in 25:27 minutes over 27 games of his EuroLeague rookie season before the competition’s suspension.
