EuroLeague Basketball in co-operation with ELPA, the EuroLeague Players Union, will hold a crucial meeting via teleconference this coming Saturday to discuss the future of the season according to Eurohoops sources.

The final decision on whether the 2019-20 season will continue or be ultimately suspended following the coronavirus pandemic that has halted all action is due May 25. The 11 clubs with an A License will vote if they want or not the season to be completed in July with EuroLeague CEO Jordi Bertomeu presenting in detail his plan on resuming the competition.

That’s why EuroLeague Basketball has invited on Saturday team captains plus one senior player per team for all EuroLeague participants, to explain to them the scenarios for the conclusion of the season.

EuroLeague Chairman and CEO Jordi Bertomeu and other EuroLeague Basketball board members will also be present in the meeting.

Of course, the main issue of the meeting will be health protocols that will be applied if the EuroLeague season resumes. It’s already decided that if this happens, all games will be held on two venues in the same city without fans between the 4th and the 26th of July.
