Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv and Tarik Black agreed to part ways, the Israeli powerhouse announced on Saturday.
“I want to thank the owners, management, coaching staff, teammates, and fans for a great time in a great city. Yalla Maccabi!” mentioned the 28-year-old American center following his departure.
Black joined Maccabi in 2018. He since competed in 37 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague matches, but his 2019-20 run was cut short due to injury before the season was halted, in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Over 11 appearances, he averaged 9.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.7 blocks per 2019-20 game. His first post-NBA campaign, the 2018-19 season saw him put up 11 points and 5.4 rebounds per match.
Black was not among the imported players expected to report back for the conclusion of Israel’s Winner League. He had 8.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game prior to the decision to pause the season.
Before moving to Israel and helping his side capture the domestic championship wrapping up his first run, the Memphis and Kansas alum made his way to 227 NBA games between the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers.
