Nick Calathes is expected to part ways with Panathinaikos and just hours after the official end of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season, FC Barcelona made its move.
According to Eurohoops sources, the club has presented a 5,5 million US dollars net offer to the Greek American guard for a three-year deal.
The 31-years old player is currently the top target of Barcelona and they are trying to convince him to move to Spain with a lucrative offer, which will keep him among the top paid players of the EuroLeague.
Zenit St. Petersburg has also shown its interest and with top-class point guard being a commodity, it remains to be seen if Calathes will wait in order to examine his possible other options on the market, or if Barcelona, a top EuroLeague contender, will be his choice.
During the 2019-20 season, Calathes averaged 13.3 ppg and 9.1 apg. He is second in the all-time list of EuroLeague passers with 1260, behind Vassilis Spanoulis (1516).
